I can vouch for that as I have been here and done that with and without my family many times. The best viewing is right at the lighthouse. The most common whales passing here are the Humpbacks as they migrate between May and June to warmer waters to breed. They return around September to October usually with their calves close by. The Town really buzzes with many international artists arriving and local singer songwriters playing gigs. Visitors come from all over Australia and overseas to enjoy the good music and what the area has to offer, many making return trips frequently.
