Darling Harbour is just minutes from the center of Sydney, a fantasic place to explore and discover at any time. This former dockside area has been transformed into a major pedestrian precinct, star tourist site and superior city venue. Come learn more...

With various attractions and Australia's premier convention and exhibition center, this is a top place to be when anual events and festivals are on. Live outdoor entertainment harbourside doesn't get much better! With more than a few good restaurants and cafes you can take your pick.

Ease the time away with friends and family while enjoying the veiws and atmosphere. Visit Cockle Bay Wharf for a special treat.

Visiting Darling Harbour

It's very easy to get around and see the various attractions in this area. View a FREE downloadable pdf map here. Walking is good exercise but if your legs need a break (and I know how it feels being on 'em all day in the city, hmm?), then take the monorail. The Monorail passes through from one end to the other on the cicuit from the Central Business District making stops at regular intervals.

Several major hotels overlook the Precinct, offering the best in three to five star accommodation.

Getting to this part of town is easy from all directions. You can travel there by ferry or water taxi, light rail, or by bus or train along with a short walk. I usually catch a train to Central and walk down through china town or via paddy's market for a bit of a browse.

If you're coming by car there is plenty of parking available. Try one of these. Entertainment car park, Exhibition Centre car park, Harbourside car park, Secure Parking, 2 Market Street, Secure Parking, 383 Kent Street, Secure Parking, 320 Harris Street, Star City car park,

Darling Harbour Entertainment

Darling Harbour hosts six annual events free every year, so there's one not too far away. My favorite is the Latino inspired Jazz/blues festival held in January. I just love blues and jazz as well as latin music. (I must be getting older, I like the music my parents use to listen to. ha!)

There is also free entertainment almost every week happening somewhere throughout the year. Click here to see what's on

Not all things have to be land based remember. There's plenty to do on the water as well, after al this is the harbour city.

From relaxing aboard a luxury catamaran or dining on a sunrise breakfast cruise, living life on board a harbour vessel is a wonderful way to reward yourself.

If you fancy dining out or a quick coffee and snacks along with some nautical adventure, try catching a water taxi to one of these harbourfront restaraunts and cafes

Please remember to enjoy yourself while out and about discovering the things this city has to offer ;)
