The magnificent Fitzroy Falls reside in the Morton National Park on the NSW Southern Highlands and what a wonderful piece of natural beauty this place is. Originally referred to as Throsby’s Falls after Charles Throsby who was a pioneer settler of the area in the early 1800’s.
The small village namesake adjoins the reserve and houses modest properties in this rural countryside. More popular for the spectacular cascading waterfall that never seems to dry up many visitors come from far and wide to view this natural wonder which is only meters from the Visitor’s Information Centre. There a number of spectacular views from various vantage points close about on the walking trails.
With Carrington Falls on the Jamberoo Road and Belmore Falls located close by at Wildes Meadow it’s easy to enjoy a day of viewing nature’s splendours by taking advantage of the picnic facilities and walking tracks. Some have even opted for camping a couple of days or more to get real close to nature in this neck of the woods so to speak.
