Jibbon Beach

Another Sydney Secret Beach

Jibbon Beach is located in the Royal National Park via Bundeena. The best way of getting there is to catch the ferry from Cronulla wharf (west side of railway station) to Bundeena. If you’re taking children this’ll be like one of those fun day trips of exploration as you cross the Hacking River and come off the ferry at the other end in this sleepy little village.

Safe swimming and snorkelling around the rocks at each end of the beach. The remoteness of the southern Bate Bay peninsular becomes an ideal escape from the rigours of the city life. This is where you can kick back and enjoy nature at its best with little explorations into the bush to view age old drawings

north facing, sunny, with safe swimming

Arriving by ferry you can either wander up and over the hill through town or catch a cab the short distance around. A lot of people traverse directly across the Hacking River making the journey out from the numerous bays on the north side.

Don't tell anyone I said so but the park and beach next to Bundeena wharf is a great place to enjoy your day also with shops directly across the road and bar-b-ques available, hmmm?

Coming by motor car is an extremely pleasant trip as you drive out of the city suburbs and through the National Park. A small entry fee applies to vehicles entering the RNP but that allows all occupants of the vehicle to enjoy all the facilities provided.

We recommend buying an annual pass if possible for around $70 then you can do many trips throughout the year and you will be helping one of the more needy of state government operations

Jibbon beach is a pretty big north facing beach and very much safe to swim at most days but it is not patrolled so don’t go wandering too far around the headland because it ends up facing all the elements of the Pacific ok?

I have seen aboriginal rock carvings close by and they really are inspirational when you consider what life must of been like here decades or centuries ago. sooo peaceful....

If you want to buy lunch do it at the shop or maybe take in a counter meal at Bundeena RSL Club. Both are a good idea if you don’t bring any yourself.

Thanks for visiting, have a great day and don't forget to get out there and...
