Kiama NSW township is nestled on the coast around the village harbour and surrounding beaches where local fishermen ply their trade to bring fresh seafood ashore every day. Another principal industry is Blue Metal quarrying which is visually evident at different areas around town where the basalt protrudes from the ground in solid formation but it’s the friendly atmosphere and locals that keep the public coming back to spend time here.
Today this town is a vibrant blend of country and urban coastal living with an eclectic mix of business both modern and aged. The boutiques, cafes and souvenir shops all add special character to make this unique village well worth a visit on any day trip or weekend getaway. The more notable highlight of this village are the huge shafts of water that explode into the air under pressure from the ocean at the blowhole, thousands of visitors flock to capture their own experiences of this every month.

Things to See and Do around KiamaBeaches, shopping, wineries, where do you want to start? There is a plethora of different things to see and do around here many of which are easily accessed from town. Try browsing shops, as I’ve already mentioned there’s something for everyone from young to old with boutiques, galleries cafes and more. There are some amazing drives to be had with Jamberoo Valley close by and Kangaroo Valley not much further away, both exhibit villages with warm country charm. Gerringong and Gerroa are very popular beachside locations only minutes south and beyond the valleys and towns there are lookouts and waterfalls that display much natural beauty and scenery well worth an inspection, the most remarkable of which would have to be Minnamurra Falls in amongst the Minnamurra Rainforest. For those desiring a little something extra the Shoalhaven is home to several wineries offering some distinctive samplings and even accommodation onsite. Of course there are Golf Course to try out Walking trails to discover and fishing, surfing and sail boarding at some pretty good spots around the coast.
