Come visit Lake Parramatta with us. Located in the Hunts Creek catchment this lake was created in 1855 when a masonry dam was built to provide a source of freshwater to the then growing population. This beautiful area is surrounded by the stately forest which keeps it well shaded from the scorching sun in summer.

View Larger Map Located just 2kms to the north of the city centre a number of different tracks make up a circuit around the lake. Local Council progressively upgrade tracks and trails throughout the area by providing access stairs, bridges, paths etc, to provide a better experience for visitors. In the centre of it’s valley, is this big rocks, a murmuring stream, delectable to the taste, meanders to the untaught notes of nature’s feathered care, that charm the ear with wild irregularity. Here caverns open to the untouched tribe, This area tells the story of the Burramatta Aboriginal people, early settlers, and multicultural communities. From the time of becoming Australia's second oldest city through its development to a contemporary role in a vibrant and demographic centre of the metropolitan region.
This is a great way to laze away the day. Spend a day out with Sydney ferries. Take the plunge, jump onboard the rivercat at any wharf it stops nearest you and ride on down to Parramatta and stroll a while. you'll be glad you did!
