North Head was once serving as a coastal defence mechanism for Sydney has has since become host to the native shrubs and animals since the Army School of Artillery was moved to Victoria in the late 1990's although it now houses the Australian Army Artillery Museum.

Getting there is easy. The best way is to catch a ferry to Manly Pier walk one block over to Darley Rd and turn right. Follow it all the way up and it will turn into North Head Scenic Drive. If you've got time on your side you could walk to the beach and follow the coast around via Shelly beach, then loop back around via Bower St and Addison Rd, this is the coastal walk. View map
