My Blue Mountains Cave and Waterfall Adventure!

by Marty
(Byron Bay Australia)

Blue Mountains Cave

Blue Mountains Cave

Hi my name is Marty and I have always been an adventurer from a very young age, I just love it.
But there has always been one adventure to the Blue Mountains as a young boy I will never forget!

I used to live in Sydney and the Blue Mountains was great for day trips. My father used to take me there to visit one of his friends called Billy!

Billy was a great guy and had two Labrador dogs that loved to go for walks, swim and play.
Most of the time we just visited the house, but Billy new I was curious, so he would take me on the occasional adventure, down to creeks, rivers and deep into the forests.

One day he told me he had found a magic waterfall deep in the mountains and asked my father and I if we would like to go?

Now, I know you know my answer!

Before you new it we were tracking deep into the forest along some very steep cliffs. It was a little scary, but we tracked on.

Eventually we made it to where two cliff faces met and we started to walk towards what looked like a cave.

As we walked towards the cave the area become more moist with lots of beautiful delicate ferns that glowed lime green.

Eventually we made it into the end of the cave and there was a small waterfall spilling through the roof.

"Wow", was my first thought, but to my amazement the water wasn't flowing anywhere. The pond wasn't very big only about 2.5ft nearly a meter wide and the water was an amazing crystal clear blue

Billy explained to me that water runs through the earth in an underwater stream and worked a bit like a toilet bowl.

Actually I never got the chance to go back there, and I would never find it on my own. Unfortunately this way before the invention of cameras on mobile phones, but I will never ever forget My Blue Mountains Cave and Waterfall Adventure.
