Need Some Sydney Hotels Accommodation

Question
Myself and 3 other friends will be vacationing in Sydney for 5 days in mid November 2011. We would like somewhere to stay that offers continental breakfast, clean and decent. We do not want to spend over $160 a night and would like to be close to the Opera House/major attractions. Do you have any suggestions? Please let me know as soon as possible.
In addition, where would give us the best deal/price on tours? We will be there for only 5 days, so what would you suggest our itinerary be like?
Thanks so much.

Answer
Thanks for your enquiry Lisa,
I hope your trip to Australia will be longer than just the 5days you spend in Sydney.
As for where to stay I can reccommend taking up accommodation in places like Darling Harbour or the historic Rocks precinct. Both of which have some affordable accommodation and easy walking access to the CBD but the Rocks is located under the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge right next to Circular Quay which is the main ferry terminal. This is a great place to start for a day trip if you want to get out on the water without spending big dollars on harbour cruises. Check this map of Sydney
Catch a Sydney Ferry to Manly and you can enjoy the magnificent views along the way, once you arrive you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the Corso to the beach while checking all the shops and restaurants on the way (about 500mtrs) you might even want to visit the Oceanworld Manly or do a trip to Tarongara Zoo Wow, that could be 2days gone just like that!
Another must do is to visit Bondi Beach it is one of the 10most popular beaches on the planet or do a train day trip to Katoomba in the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains, there's another 2days filled.
I'll leave the suggestions at that so you and your friends still have some time to rest up before you move on to where ever next.
We'll be sad to see you go but so pleased you came and visited. Dont forget to send us a hi and share a story or two with us if you can and thanks for your question. I hope this little bit of info has helped in some way ;-)
