Perfect Picnic Menu

Good wine complements good picnic food, when you have both you will be rewarded. There's nothing better than to eat and drink and enjoy what you have at that moment. However a poor choice with either can sometimes leave a bitter taste. Most wines will go well with cheese and crackers.



If you’re out on a wine tasting picnic in the country then easy, light finger foods are a great way to keep it simple with no heavy preparation. Alternatively, you might like to visit a specific location and barbecue, in that case your perfect picnic menu should include the wines that will go with what you are cooking, such as meat, fish, poultry etc. Again, the emphasis is on enjoying the place, the moment, and the friends.

Location

Location is an important factor when you plan a picnic and you might have some favorite spots you like to frequent or that special place you haven’t visited for ages. Of course many people will frequent parks and gardens with trees that provide shade and grassy playing areas where one can also rest or take a nap.

Other ideal places for picnics include beaches, dams, rivers and sometimes even the backyard, yep the good old faithful backyard has been the backbone of many of our picnics and many of our friends still comment on how they are so memorable. You don’t need a lot of fancy stuff just good friends and fine food and drink.

Picnic Equipment

Choosing the right equipment can sometimes mean the difference between and enjoyable picnic and one that’s not so enjoyable. Choosing some good rugs or ground covers is a start but you will also need some picnic table hardware (if you’re using tables) perhaps some kind of decorations if you like and you may even send out some special kind of picnic invitations prior to the event if you are inclined to make arrangement on behalf of others.

Don’t fuss over whether everything is perfect or not just be concerned with those around you and the food and drink. One thing you can never have enough of is napkins. They can clean hands and faces, wipe up mess and even wipe little ones clean as well as remove rubbish and leftovers.
