Resolute Beach
One of Sydney's Secret Beaches
Resolute Beach Kuringai National Park is probably not the best kept secret around town but the crowds do remain few because it does take a bit of effort to get to. A typically out of the way (semi) secret beach with nice shaded areas and excellent views back across the Pittwater to Palm Beach and Barrenjoey Headland.
Make this a one day trip and a time to remember and share for years!
Take a packed lunch and a big bottle of water. A relaxing way to get there is to enjoy the ferry ride from Palm Beach Wharf to Great Mackerel Beach. Walk to the north end of Great Mackerel and look for the 2 cabbage palms and the rock with the arrow painted on it, (don't worry you can't miss it) then you will have found the track that climbs over the hill and follows the headland around to Resolute. Keep the Pittwater on your right and you can't go wrong.
It's and easy walk and when you get there you'll enjoy the peaceful surrounds and quiet time. Alternatively you could stay at Great Mackerel Beach which is a fine beach removed from the hussle and bussle of Sydney. This side of the Pittwater is so far removed from the city rat race you’ll probably wish you were living out here. While you're there you can enjoy a swim and lying around at the beach or take a walk on the resolute loop track with various points of interest if you're the enthusiastic type. Included in the area are some Aboriginal Artworks, go exploring for them if you're interest.
