Sydney Coastal Walks are a pleasurable way to view some of the best walking trails and scenery in New South Wales. From Barrenjoey Headland and Palm Beach in the north to Cronulla and the Royal National Park in the south, Sydney certainly has many favourite coastal walks.
Sydney’s great coastal walk spans the full length of the city limits and is split into seven sections usually requiring a day per walk with each section roughly between 12-15kms and taking between 4-6hrs to complete. The distance covered in total is approximately 100kms.
Various stages of this walk have their own walks unique to that area and these are what we will highlight. If you’re feeling healthy and up to it, why not do the lot? After all not everyone can say they’ve completed Sydney’s great coastal walk.

Cronulla Peninsular coastal walk spans the beachfront promenade and stretches all the way from Cronulla Point to Bass and Flinders lookout standing sentinel over the Hacking River. The loop track takes in Gunnamatta Bay foreshore back to Cronulla Railway Station.
