City Attractions and Water Activities

Sydney Harbour
is a stunning gem of natural beauty, one of the most magnificent harbours in the world and as the hub of this fantastic city it is the perfect place to view the spectacular Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge amongst many other attractions.

Endless foreshores and natural reserves are perfectly positioned with exclusive real estate, parks and gardens attracting thousands of visitors each year. This marvellous haven is BIG, colourful and inviting with marine craft of every sort plying the waters year round.

There are many kilometres of walking tracks around the harbour foreshores but the best place to see the harbour is from on the water. Spending time on any of the many maritime vessels that plough the waters here is a real treat,

Sydney Harbour Cruises

Private cruise operators offer lunch and dinner cruises, day sailing as well as excursions to most parts. These can vary greatly in price as can the operations, from short trips locally to show boat experiences with full cabaret dinners and dancing afterwards to the tunes of live bands on board.

Any time spent on this majestic waterway is an opportunity not to be missed especially on a fine sunny day. It will be an experience you’ll never forget.

Sydney Harbour Attractions

Places such as Cockatoo Island, North Head Sanctuary and Macquarie Lighthouse as well as a few others have been revitalized in recent years and opened to the public by the Harbour Trust. Imagine enjoying a drink or two at the Island Bar on Cockatoo Island with nothing but the sparkling blue waters all around you or climbing the 100 steps up Macquarie lighthouse for the best views of the coast and harbour.

Take a water taxi and find a spot to picnic or catch one of the Sydney Ferries to one of the many wharfs between Manly and Balmain, it’s an inexpensive way to get around. Visit Headland Park for a rich look at some sculptured art overlooking the water amidst the natural surrounds or enjoy a meal at any number of fine restaurants that can be found around the foreshores.

For the ultimate experience the Sydney bridge climb beats everything hands down around the city. With several different climbs available all designed to put you in the best position to view Sydney Harbour and its world famous features. Viewing the Opera House, Circular Quay, Luna Park and The Rocks from such heights put a totally different perspective on these best city attractions.
