My wife taught me some years ago that I could put on some good clothes, take a trip to the city and enjoy a day out! we've visited most Sydney museums and have quite frankly not only learned things but have been very entertained as well. It's actually fun to visit these places so read on...

Sydney Powerhouse Museum located southern end of the Darling Harbour in Harris St, offers many different exhibitions and events. One such is the Beta Space exhibition, a collaboration between the museum and the University of Technology, Sydney... go take a look.

Australian National Maritime Museum located at Darling Harbour is where you can visit a real live navy destroyer, a sub or the famous America's Cup winning sailing boat, Australia II. Of course you'll discover there's much more on display than just these...

Museum of Contemporary Art Right bang smack on the shores of The Rocks/Circular Quay you can access a world of artful resourceshere. Indulge yourself viewing what’s on offer at your own pace or take the guided tour with cookies and cake at the end of it.

 Jumbulla Aboriginal Discovery Centre located in the Southern Gateway Centre on the Princes Highway Bulli Tops.Hard work and persistance have finally brought the dream of connecting the cultures to life. It has become the first cultural centre of its kind in Australia and well worth the visit.
Sydney Tramway Museum located at the southern end of Rawson Ave Loftus next to Loftus Railway Station. Ph 95423604. Open during evry school holidays.Ride the Sydney trams of yesteryear. Take a trip down memory lane to this fascinating and nostalgic educational museum. A great place to visit with younger ones, they'll thoroughly love riding on the old timber trams as they clatter and shake along the track. Older ones can take a trip down Memory Lane nurturing those romantic days of yesteryear when they were young and rode the Sydney tramway.
 Sydney Justice and Police Museum located at Cnr Albert and Phillip Streets, Circular Quay, Sydney, NSW 2000 ph 9252 1144. Try something completely different and macabre, step back into the dark side of Sydney’s past history with gruesome stories of desperate villains. This was how authority was imposed upon the inhabitants of Sydney back then.
