These are the ones you never hear people talking about or see pictures of, yet they exist 24/7 waiting for someone to go and visit, have a picnic or frolic on their shores.

Secret Bays Hidden Coves Coastal inlets all makes for alternative beach going from the main stream. There's more than 150 of these gems between Broken Bay in the north and the Royal National Park in the south.

If you're after the best Sydney beaches for swimming, surfing or fishing you can't go past the popular coastal beaches that are often manned with surf life savers dressed in the famous red and yellow during the summer months.

Milk Beach Vaucluse is accessed from the track behind Strickland House on Vaucluse Road. Often no one around, Not Bad! Considering it’s in the middle of Sydney. Wonderful city and harbour views. Visit Milk beach Vaucluse

Resolute Beach is located on West Head in the Kuringai National Park in Sydney’s north. Set in a semi isolated area with a compulsory walk in make it a favorite of romantics and the adventurous. Visit Resolute beach

Jibbon Beach is located in the Royal National Park, with north facing aspect makes for safe protected swimming. Aboriginal Rock drawings available to view nearby also. Visit Jibbon beach

Shelly Beach Manly is a short walk south along the promenade from Manly. This is a delightful place to relax and a great alternative to more frequented northern beaches. Visit Shelly beach Manly

Little Bay is located off Anzac Parade next to The Coast Golf Course, miles from anywhere without a worry at all nor a reason to care. Visit Little Bay

Silver Beach Kurnell is located on the quiet shores of Botany Bay. Relax in seclusion and discover one of Sydney's best kept secret beaches. Visit Silver Beach Kurnell
